The Soil Judging Competition is a dynamic three-day event that challenge participants to develop and apply real-world soil science skills in a collaborative environment. The competition is a practical training and networking opportunity for aspiring soil professionals.

 

The 2025 competition is being hosted by the University of New England, Armidale NSW, between the 25-28th November. 

 

During the competition participants can:

  • Increase their knowledge of soils and soil profiles.
  • Connect with other early career soil scientists from across Australia.
  • Network with and learn from experienced soil scientists
  • Apply a land capability assessment to supplement their soil description and interpretation.


The event includes two training / practice days and one competition day.

  • Tuesday 25 Nov: Welcome Function
  • Wednesday 26 Nov: Practice Day 1
  • Thursday 27 Nov: Practice Day 2
  • Friday 28 Nov: Competition day and awards dinner

 

Participant Registrations are now closed, but accommodation packages and bus tickets are still available for purchase until the 1st November.
