Soil Science Australia (SSA) is hosting a webinar exploring the concept of soil security.

Soil Security for Australia
Applying the soil security framework to Australian landscapes, land use, policy and practice

This webinar introduces the concept of soil security and shows how it can be applied in an Australian context. Moving beyond definitions of soil health, the session explains the five dimensions of soil security — capacity, condition, capital, connectivity and codification — and demonstrates how they can be used to better understand, assess and protect Australian soils. The discussion draws on Australian examples including vineyard soils, dryland production landscapes, carbon and land management questions, and the role of governance in securing soil into the future. The program is grounded in the foundational soil security literature and recent Australian and international applications of the framework.
